Leanne Cusimano followed a dream and a vision and in 1994 started in business.  As founder and creator of the original Cafe Amore, she is also the proud proprietor of Amore Breakfast!  With a background in teaching, then retail furniture sales, and after having worked in area restaurants for 6 years, she wanted to create a place of her own where people could enjoy good food and feel at home.  She has been influenced by her travels coast to coast and abroad. Leanne has always believed that “food is love”, due to her Italian upbringing, thus, “Amore”!

The original location of Cafe Amore, just up the street, was on the property of Sea Chambers on Shore Road.  After 3 seasons, the Café moved to Perkins Cove to expand & offer a full breakfast menu.  It is this very menu that was created for the new Amore Breakfast and that Leanne has since perfected. Although the lunch menu of the original cafe was no longer available, it was decided to “do one thing and do it well”. You will find nothing but the freshest ingredients, and attention to detail that is associated with the Amore name!Amore Breakfast relocated in the late spring of 2001, to the former Brooks Farm on Shore Road, which offered more seating, more parking and more of the best breakfast found anywhere!

When the opportunity to expand presented itself once more, Leanne decided to seize the day and move Amore Breakfast to it's newest location at 309 Shore Road, at the entrance to Perkins Cove.  With the increased space, and plenty of parking, Leanne was able to bring back her original concept of Cafe Amore by teaming up with co-owner, Michael Maler.

The new and improved Cafe Amore, located right next door to Amore Breakfast, will enable both Leanne and Michael to offer Amore customers premium coffees, fabulous Amore muffins, Amore Granola, the full Amore Breakfast menu for take-out, and expand the menu to include prepared sandwiches, salads, and more!  Cafe Amore will also feature Maine maple syrup, Amore-themed gifts for the home, plus coffee mugs, hats, tee-shirts and other Amore gear!
